Now the growers of medical marijuana on Vancouver Island are lining up for a piece of the lucrative action. A Duncan company, Island Harvest, applauded the decision as it opens the field for suppliers to sell to more than one patient. Judge Barry Strayer said the Health Canada policy violated the charter of rights and freedoms. You would think these corporate lackeys would get the message, but governments continue to privatize everything in sight with no democratic input and absolutely no transparency. They make promises only to turn around and do the exact opposite. Let's hope the Harper neo-cons will accept the court decision and drop their attempt to introduce mandatory minimum sentences for a single pot plant. If nothing else, this shows the gap that exists between reality and the Harper view of the world.
